Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday addressed media persons over the ongoing strike by municipal corporation employees.

Here are highlights of his speech:

* I have been tracking the protests in Delhi. It is unfortunate that MCD has been locked up. The reason being that its employees haven't been paid in months.

* Two kinds of politics has been visible -- on one end Karamcharis went on strike and on the other BJP went around littering streets all over Delhi.

* The impression that has been given is that the Delhi government is behind this. I have analysed all the figures. Delhi government doesn't owe a single rupee to the MCD.

* We gave North MCD nearly Rs 893 crore. We gave them double their last year's budget. If salaries were being given till last year, why is their a shortfall now?

* We gave East MCD Rs 468 crore. Last year they had Rs 368 cr and they still paid the salries. How is it that they don't have money? Where has the money gone?

* There is a very big scam. Either this money has been diverted somewhere else or has ended up in corrupt hands.

* Delhi government has the mandate to check MCD's financial records. But they refused to show.

* Entire Delhi pays house tax, parking tax, toll tax, advertisement, conversion, electricity tax, etc... all of which goes to the MCD. All that money is stolen. East MCD (represents 1/3 of Delhi) earns Rs 12000 crore from advertisement hoarding, 2.5 in parking charges. And they say, they have no money?
