Terrorists attack CRPF personnel with grenade in J&K, operation continues

Two Central Reserve Police Force personnel were injured in a grenade attack in south Kashmir's Anantnag district this evening during an operation, Mukhtar Shah reports from Srinagar.

A senior officer of the CRPF said the security force's personnel and special operations group of the state police had jointly surrounded Arwani village near Bejibehara on specific information about presence of a group of terrorists there.

"As the security forces were laying a cordon, hiding militants hurled a grenade which exploded injuring two troopers, including an inspector. The injured were evacuated to hospital for treatment," the officer said.

"The operation is still continuing," he added.
