CEC, ECs head to Tamil Nadu to gauge poll preparedness

Chief Election Commissioner Dr Nasim Zaidi and Election Commissioners Achal Kumar Joti and Om Prakash Rawat will be reaching Chennai on February 9 to review the state's preparedness for the forthcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The CEC and ECs will visit Puducherry on February 9 as well. February 10 and 11 will be spent in reviewing the poll preparedness of the state. The state will go to the polls in May.

During their stay in Chennai, the CEC and the ECs will meet representatives of all political parties, District Election officers, District Magistrates, SSPs and top civil and police officers and enforcement agencies of the state. The Commission will return to Delhi February 11.
