LIVE! 13 college students drown in Murud, Maharashtra

In a tragedy that recurs ever so often along the beaches of Maharasthra, at least 13 college students, out on picnic in Murud in Raigad district were drowned after they were swept away.

The bodies of 10 girls and three boys have been pulled out, say the police. Five are being treated.

Around 115 students from the Abida Inaamdar College in Pune had gone for the picnic to the Murud beach, a popular tourist spot.

The police and firemen are trying to rescue more students.
