SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav rules out alliance with any party for upcoming UP Assembly polls. At a just-concluded press conference, Mulayam said the party will go it alone for the UP polls. He also refused to name the party's chief ministerial candidate. "We will not project a CM candidate. MLAs elect their own leader," he said.

He also said that the people would give a reply to the BJP over demonetisation.  "Notebandi ka jawab jaldi milega aur vo hum nahi denge, janta degi," he said.

On Monday UP Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav sent out a parallel list of 403 candidates, comprising largely his loyalists for the Assembly elections in 2017.
