Indrani Mukerjea gets 1-day bail for father's funeral

Just in: Indrani Mukerjea, accused of murdering her daughter Sheena Bora, has been granted bail for a day to perform her father's last rites.

The Special CBI Court yesterday had rejected her interim bail application. She had filed the bail plea seeking permission to attend her father's funeral in Guwahati, Assam. Her father, Upendra Kumar Bora passed away on December 15.

The CBI had made a submission that Indrani's bail can affect the case as she would have to be escorted to Guwahati and that her presence in the court is mandatory on December 22, when charges will be framed against her.
