Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung resigns

Just in: Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung submits his resignation to the Government of India. He has cited personal reasons for his resignation. his office says that he wants to return to his first love, academics. His term was marked by several face-offs with the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. The differences between them led to very public battles.

His office also said that Jung has been considering a resignation for some time and the decision is not sudden nor is there any controversy about the resignation.

The Lt Governor has resigned 18 months ahead of his tenure.

Jung has thanked the Delhi CM, the people of Delhi and the PM for their support.
