O Panneerselvam's maiden visit to New Delhi as Tamil Nadu chief minister after J Jayalalithaa's demise went unnoticed.

It was designed to be so.

Panneerselvam has always remained in Jayalalithaa's shadow when she was alive, and now after her death, he has maintained a low profile. He has instructed that his photographs should not be kept at the main reception area of Tamil Nadu House in New Delhi. Incidentally, almost all the large portraits of Jayalalithaa still hang inside the House along with President Pranab Mukherjee and the state Governor.

We also hear that Panneerselvam did not use the official car which was being used by Jayalalithaa. In fact before leaving for the Prime Minister's residence, Panneerselvam prayed before the portrait of Jayalalithaa, touched it and stood before it in silence for two minutes, seemingly to get her blessings.
