At least 170 hours after his promise of an 'earthquake' Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi today said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was paid a huge sum of money during his stint as Gujarat chief minister. Rahul said that Modi received crores from the Sahara Group and demanded an independent probe into the matter. He said Sahara paid Modi nine times in six months, a total of Rs 40 crore in 2013. He said the proof was with the income tax department for years, but still no raid was carried out on the PM.

The BJP has slammed the Congress VP's 'proof' and says, Rahul Gandhi's allegations are false, people don't take him seriously. "It has become their habit to level baseless allegations against the PM. Rahul Gandhi is a part time non-serious political leader," the BJP said.
