Cyclone Vardah makes landfall near Chennai, says Mahesh Palawat, Skymet Chief. Skymet is a private Indian company that provides weather forecast for India. Palawat says heavy rainfall will continue for another 6-8 hours. Coastal areas will see moderate rainfall, interiors will see heavy rainfall. Windspeeds between 130-150 kmph.
