Cyclone Vardah update:

Services at Chennai Airport, which were earlier suspended till 9 pm, have been suspended till 11 pm.

Even Bengaluru witnessed light showers after Cyclone Vardah made landfall in Chennai.

Government-aided, private schools, colleges and other educational institutions in Chennai, Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur to remain closed tomorrow.

The NDMA says 47 huts have been damaged, 3,384 have fallen out of which 696 have been removed. 3,400 electricity board poles have also fallen.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu CM O Panneerselvam announced that Rs 4 lakh will be given to family members of those who died due to Cyclone Vardah from state disaster relief fund.
