PIA plane with 47 on board crashes near Abbottabad

The Pakistan International Airlines plane which had gone missing from radar has crashed near Abbottabad, reports the Express Tribune.

The Islamabad-bound flight had PK-661 had 47 people on board.

The aircraft departed from Chitral at 3.30pm and disappeared from the radar soon after take-off, the report said.

Pak militarys media wing Inter-Services Public Relations said the army dispatched troops and helicopters to the crash site for rescue efforts.
