Rio Olympics bronze medallist wrestler Sakshi Malik reached Delhi early on Wednesday and was accorded a grand welcome.

Sakshi was accompanied by Haryanas Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij on her flight back home and as many as five Haryana ministers were there to welcome her.

Its a great feeling, the reception I got was amazing. A proud moment for me, Sakshi said after arriving in New Delhi.

The whole country supported me, I want to thank everyone. It was my biggest dream to win a medal for India at Olympics. I was preparing for this for the last 12 years, she said.

Sakshis father Satbir Malik said he cant believe the reception his daughter got at the airport.

Another grand reception ceremony awaits the wrestler at her village in Rohtak district, where she will be felicitated with a cash prize of Rs 2.5 crore by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
