Explosions heard at American University in Kabul

Explosions and gunfire have been reported at the American University in Kabul, according to witness reports and students.

Security forces responded to emergency calls in the capital.

The attack began at 7pm local time on Wednesday evening when residents heard a loud blast near the university, according to BNO News.

Students reported that the were trapped inside the building and they heard heavy gunfire. Gunmen then entered the building.
