After Hyderabad, victory procession for PV Sindhu in Vijaywada

After being given a grand welcome in Hyderabad, PV Sindhu, silver medallist at the Olympics, was accorded a victory procession in Vijaywada in Andhra Pradesh.

Both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, born out of a bifurcation two years ago, claim that 21-year-old Sindhu belongs to them and so the star athlete has to participate in double celebrations.

Thousands had showed up in Hyderabad yesterday, lining the 30-km route from the airport to the Gachibowli stadium that Sindhu travelled in an open double-decker bus, specially driven in from Mumbai.
