Nearly a month after the AN-32 aircraft of the Indian Air Force went missing on a routine flight from Chennai to Port Blair, some objects have been found in the sea bed at a depth of about 3,500 metres, 150 nautical miles off Chennai in the Bay of Bengal.

The objects, which were suspected to be debris of the missing aircraft, was found by Geological survey of India's research vessel 'Samudra Ratnakar' which has been profiling the seabed to look for the IAFs missing transport aircraft.

The transport aircraft had gone missing with 29 passengers onboard on July 22, about 15 minutes after it took off from Tambaram Air Force base to Port Blair.

More details are awaited.
