Under fire over charges of sedition, Amnesty International India on Thursday denied reports of shutting down their office and asserted that the charge of sedition against them was completely wrong, adding that they would continue to fight for justice.

Executive director of Amnesty India Aakar Patel said that the information provided by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, on the basis of which an FIR was lodged against them had factual errors.

"It is unfortunate for us that an issue that is serious and on which we had spent so many years, was then submerged by one aspect of this, which is slogan shouting," he said.

On reports of Amnesty office being closed down, Patel said that the staff is working from the office, although earlier in the day, they were advised to work from home after threats of dhranas and protests loomed.
