Dance event showcasing Indian history at Rajpath today

A unique dance event which will showcase the country's history from ancient times to contemporary will be held at Rajpath in national capital New Delhi today as part of the government's 'Bharat parv' celebrations.

According to officials in the I&B ministry, over 40 dancers will participate in the event which will also have Union Ministers M Venkaiah Naidu, Mahesh Sharma and other high profile dignitaries in the audience.

The dance-drama moves across eras, from the times of Harrappa and Mohenjodaro to British rule to Independence and moves further to give a message against ills like corruption, water wastage, illiteracy, addiction and issues like farmer suicides.

The group, which will be putting this show had earlier done the same in Mumbai, officials said
