Sonia Gandhi discharged from hospital

Congress president Sonia Gandhi has been discharged from Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi.

She was admitted to the hospital on August 3 with fever, dehydration and shoulder injury.

Yesterday, the hospital had said that Gandhi was recovering well from her illness and was likely to be discharged in a day or two.

69-year-old Gandhi was undergoing treatment at the private hospital for the last 11 days after taking ill during a roadshow in Varanasi.

She underwent a surgery on her left shoulder on August 3, the day she was admitted to the hospital, and doctors said she almost recovered from the injury.

Gandhi was shifted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital from the Army Research and Referral Hospital, where she was rushed soon after her arrival from Varanasi around midnight of August 2.

The Congress president had to cut short her roadshow in Varanasi after she was taken ill. She had fractured her left shoulder during the roadshow.
