First reactions on GST

"I think it's a good step for the country," Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi said after the Lok Sabha passed Rajya Sabha amendments to the Goods and Services Tax Bill.

We earlier had three major differences on GST, weve worked that out. Still have one issue on 18 per cent cap, which will be discussed in December, the Congress vice president said.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh said that GST is comparable in importance and scope to the 1947 political integration of 562 states by Sardar Patel.
