Sonia fought to be seen in this picture

Congress President Sonia Gandhi scored a small victory at a rally in Varanasi today. Much like her late husband and former PM Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia, wanted to reach out to the people especially in PM Modi's constituency and to do so she had to be seen by the thousands who had gathered to watch her drive past. The only way to to do it was to use an open jeep. But the SPG tasked with her security would have none of it and said she would have to give her intention in writing.

Mrs Gandhi did nothing of the kind, yet managed to be seen in the huge crowd of supporters in Varanasi. She used a vehicle with a sun roof. (See the picture alongside). The SPG lost this one.
