The Mumbai Anti Terrorism squad on Tuesday arrested dreaded Indian Mujahideen terrorist Zain ul Abedin, from Mumbai airport. Abedin has been wanted  by the National Investigative Agency in relation with the July 13, 2011 blast at three locations in Mumbai.

This comes as an important development in the case, in which the last arrest was made in July 2014, when Abdul Mateen Fakki -- another accused in the blasts case -- was arrested by the Mumbai ATS.

In 2011, Mumbai had been rocked by coordinated serial bomb blasts. On July 13, explosions had taken place between 18:54 and 19:06 IST at the Opera House, at Zaveri Bazaar and at Dadar West localities. In all 26 people had been killed and 130 others had been injured. Several theories had been floated about who was responsible for the blasts, but Indian Mujahideen- a group which has been on the terror radar of several countries and has regional aspirations of establishing an Islamic caliphate across South Asia- had been the prime suspect.
