400 grams heavier, Vinesh Phogat misses Olympics qualifier

Commonwealth Games gold medallist Vinesh Phogat was probably India's best bet to earn an Olympic berth in the women's wrestling at the 1st Olympic qualifier in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

But the 21-year-old would not even compete in the competition after failing to make the weight during the mandatory weight. Vinesh, who competes in the 48kg category, missed the mark by around 400 grams and hence does not figure in the draw for the event to be held today, according to sources.
