Dr Ambedkar was `Vishwa Manav`, says PM Modi on his 125th birth anniversary

Paying homage to Bharat Ratna Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar on his 125th birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that the architect of the Indian Constitution was a 'Vishwa Manav', who devoted his life in service of the poor and the marginalised.

"On his Jayanti, I bow to the venerable Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. Jai Bhim.," Prime Minister Modi tweeted.The Prime Minister also said that Dr Ambedkar always believed in the power of education.

"His economic vision was unique, with a strong emphasis on welfare of the farmer as well as worker," he said.

The nation is today commemorating the 125th birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar.

The main function will be held in the lawns of the Parliament house complex where political leaders and peoples from different walks of life will be paying floral tributes at the statue of Dr Ambedkar.
