Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be hosting a lunch for Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and Kate Middleton on their maiden visit to India, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, will begin their visit to India in Mumbai on April 10 and they will reach Delhi on April 11. We look forward to welcome Duke and Duchess on their first visit to India, next week. In Delhi, they are scheduled to lay a wreath at India Gate and visit Gandhi Smriti. Prime Minister Modi will host a lunch for them on April 12," MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup said.

"Engagement with the British Royal Family has been an integral component of India-UK relations," he added.
