Digvijay in US, can't appear before police tomorrow: lawyer

The lawyer of Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh informed the police that he won't be able to appear before them tomorrow in connection with the state assembly appointments case, as he was in the US for the treatment of his daughter. 

The police, on September 27, had served a notice at Singh''s official residence, asking him to appear on or before September 30. The police are investigating alleged irregularities in appointments at the Madhya Pradesh State Assembly secretariat between 1993 and 2003 (when Singh was the chief minister).
