SC rejects Somnath Bharti's bail plea, asks him to surrender today

The Supreme Court has rejected Somnath Bharti's bail plea and asked him to surrender today. The apex court added that the matter would be heard again on October 1 after he surrendered. The court rapped Somnath for 'behaving like a criminal and said that the AAP MLA had been running away from the law. Bharti is isseeking protection from arrest in a domestic violence and attempt to murder case in which the Delhi high court rejected his petition for anticipatory bail.

Somnath's wife Lipika had filed a complaint of domestic violence with Delhi Commission for Women on June 10 alleging that her husband had been abusing her since their marriage in 2010. She had also given a complaint to the police in this regard.
