Death toll of Indians killed in Hajj stampede rises to 22

The number of Indians who have died in Mecca's stampede in which 769 people have died has risen to 22, tweeted External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. Thursday's stampede in Mina during Hajj is being called as one of the worst tragedies to beset the annual pilgrimage in the last 25 years. "The latest statistics up to this hour reveal 769 dead. That is an increase of 52 on the previous figures," Saudi health minister Khalid al-Falih told a news conference.
