Sourav Ganguly, former India skipper, will succeed Jagmohan Dalmiya as the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal, confirms India Today.
Dalmiya's death has triggered a power struggle for the top post in Kolkata cricket board.
Yesterday, Ganguly, who is also the CAB joint-secretary, and Dalmiyas son Abhishek met West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee in an hour-long meeting. Sources said Mamata will support Souravs candidature.
A formal announcement is expected in a week, reports India Today.
