December launch for BJP's new channel Lotus TV

BJP president Amit Shah has ambitious plans to launch Lotus TV -- an English TV channel -- as the official voice of the party. The paperwork is over and the channel is likely to be launched on Atal Bihari Vajpayee's birthday on December 25. On the anvil are a Hindi and six other regional language channels from the BJP.

This is on the lines of other parties which have official mouthpieces. The DMK has Kalaignar News & Sun News and other general entertainment channels; the AIADMK has Jaya TV; the PMK has Makkal TV, while the
MDMK has Captain News and Captain TV.
