Unidentified gunmen kill former militant in Sopore

An ex-militant was killed while his three-year-old son was critically injured in a militant attack in north Kashmir apple rich Sopore town of Baramulla district.

A senior police officer said militants fired at Bashir Ahmad Bhat, an ex-militant near his house in Sagipora locality of Sopore town this evening.

Bashir succumbed to injuries on the spot while his three year old son who was in his lap was critically injured. He was evacuated to hospital for treatment, the officer told rediff.com.
