It was a terrible Tuesday for Mumbai after a train derailment on the Western Railway line yesterday. Services were hit leaving commuters with little choice but take the roads and causing nightmarish traffic snarls. So here's the latest this morning.

"At present fast trains are being diverted on slow tracks and running about 15 min late," the Western Railway informed in a tweet.

"The last derailed coach has been removed from the tracks and services will be started on fast tracks in an hour," the WR said about 30 minutes ago. It has requested the BEST to ply extra buses in the city.

According to officials, restoration work is still going on and is expected to complete till 9 am.
