Asaduddin Owaisi's MIM to contest Bihar polls

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen President Asaduddin Owaisi today informed that his party would contest in the Seemanchal region in the upcoming Bihar polls.

The MIM has not yet decided on the numbers of seats it would contest. The region comprises 38 seats, reports ABP News.

Assembly elections in Bihar will be fought in five phases between October 12 and November 5. Counting will be held on November 8.

"Seemanchal has been ignored by major parties in Bihar and it has remained backward. We want to develop this region," he said. Seemanchal constitutes mainly four districts -- Araria, Purnea, Kishanganj, Katihar which altogether ranks as India's one of most backward region.
