After Rajasthan and Mumbai, now Ahmedabad bans meat

After Mumbai and Rajasthan, sale of meat has now been banned in Ahmedabad during the Jain festival period of 'Paryushan'. As per reports, the Ahmedabad Police Commissioner has ordered a ban on meat for a week. During the ban, any kind of cattle slaughter will not be permitted in the city. On Thursday, the BJP government in Rajasthan had imposed a ban on sale of meat during Paryushan, a festival celebrated by Shwetambar Jains.The ban in Rajasthan will be in place on September 17 and 18. Slaughterhouses as well as meat and fish shops in the state have been ordered to remain closed on these days.
