M I Khan/Rediff.com reports from Patna: For the first time, six left parties have joined hands and decided to contest the upcoming Bihar assembly polls as one 'block'to take on the BJP-led NDA and the grand alliance of JD-U,RJD and Congress.

On Monday ,these left parties have made it clear that they will neither join hands with Mulayam Singh Yadav's Samajwadi Party nor the NCP of Sharad Pawar in Bihar polls as they are sure that they are set to provide an alternative as third political force.

The left parties will contest from all 243 assembly seats in Bihar.
