Commuters travelling by Harbour line trains of the Central Railway were left left stranded on Friday morning after one of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus bound trains broke down.

Hapless commuters could be seen disembarking their trains and walking up to the nearest station as local train service came to a grinding halt at the peak hour.

A Central Railway tweet said: "Due to technical problem in V-20 local on Up Harbour line, at Chunabhatti passengers are requested to travel via Kurla-CST on main line."

Up Harbour trains are operating only till Kurla station.

"Shuttle services from Kurla towards Vashi/Panvel running on harbour line," the Central Railway added.
