Artists from around the world pay tribute to Aylan Kurdi, the 3-year-old boy, who drowned off Turkey. The images of the toddlers lifeless body on a Turkish beach have reverberated across the globe, stirring public outrage and embarrassing political leaders as far away as Canada, where authorities had rejected an asylum application from the boys relatives.

Aylan, pictured facedown in red T-shirt and shorts, is a Syrian Kurd from Kobani, a town near the Turkish border that has witnessed months of heavy fighting between Islamic State and Syrian Kurdish forces.

In this picture, artist Azzam Daaboul illustrated the death of the Syrian toddler saying, "We are losing ourselves as humans, and the people will die around the borders".
