Jairam Ramesh today presented a copy of his latest book To the Brink and Back: India's 1991 Story to President Pranab Mukherjee. Interestingly, not only is Mukherjee's own role in the economic reforms programme implemented by PV Narasimha Rao and Dr Manmohan Singh during June-August 1991 discussed in this book, but it also carries the detailed note prepared by Mukherjee for a meeting of the Congress Working Committee held on February 19th, 1991. The President fondly recalled his intimate personal and professional association with the author for almost three decades.
