H&S signs England cricketer Joe Root

Hodder & Stoughton has bought England cricketer Joe Root's Bringing Home the Ashes. Root will briefly recount "his astonishing rise to cricket stardom", before focusing on the 2015 Ashes series.


"In what has been a turbulent year for English cricket, Joe takes us from disaster in the World Cup to becoming vice-captain on the Caribbean tour, to the Spanish camp training and bonding with a team under extreme scrutiny, to his expectation-defying performance at Cardiff in July, and finally to the Ashes victory that has cemented his place in English cricket history,' said Hodder and Stoughton.


Root, who is 24, has already scored nearly 3,000 Test runs for England. He was crowned England's Ashes Man of the series this year.


Hodder & Stoughton consultant editor Roddy Bloomfield acquired world rights in Bringing Home the Ashes from Neil Fairbrother at ISM. The book which will be published on 5th November as a 20 hardback.
