One dead, five trapped as roof of coal mine collapses in Jharkhand

One miner has died and five others trapped after the roof of a coal mine collapsed in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district today. About 22 workers had gone to the underground mine early in the morning. Most left a while later, but about six people were still working in the mine when its roof collapsed. Rescue operations are underway. The mine, owned by Bharat Coking Coal Limited, is located in the Pudki Baliharia mining area, about 10 kilometres from Dhanbad Railway Station. -- NDTV.
