Pakistan alleges RAW plans to assassinate PM Nawaz Sharif

Pakistan has stepped up security for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif after learning that the Indian intelligence agency RAW was trying to assassinate him, the media said. 

The Punjab home department has issued a high alert to security institutions "over an assassination threat to Sharif from the Research and Analysis Wing", The News International said. It quoted a circular from the home department as saying that "RAW has weaved a plan to assassinate Sharif" and that a number of other prominent personalities in Pakistan were also on RAW's radar.
