Gurgaon: 14-year-old maid tortured, found locked in cupboard

A 14-year-old girl from Jharkhand, working as a domestic help, was rescued from a house in Gurgaon's Krishna Colony.

The girl, belonging to a tribal family, was found locked in a cupboard and sent to the civil hospital for examination. Sources at the civil hospital said that the girl had bruises below her waist and was also bleeding from a knife cut on her back. Her eyes were also swollen due to her having been beaten.

On Wednesday night, a neighbour called the police helpline and complained that the family was torturing the girl. The family was informed of the police raid in advance and had locked the girl in an almirah.
