The rift between the Bharatiya Janata Party and its ally in Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena, continues to widen. Sulking over the alleged snub, by the BJP, the Sena has decided to skip Prime Minister Narendra Modi's events in Mumbai today.

"The BJP has hijacked Ambedkar and the Metro project," complained the Sena.

PM will be in the city to lay the foundation stone for Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar's memorial at Indu Mills in Dadar and to conduct 'bhoomi pujan' for two new Metro lines at Bandra-Kurla Complex, where he will also address a rally. Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray had earlier said that he would not attend the events planned around Modi's Mumbai visit, as he is in Marathwada to review the drought situation.
