Drug overdose didn't send Indrani to hospital; she wasn't taking them at all: IG (Prison)

IG (Prison) Bipin Kumar Singh who was interrogating the recent episode of the hospitalisation of Indrani Mukerjea, arrested in her daughter Sheena Boras murder case, has said that she had collapsed due to weakness and that there was no drug overdose or poisoning.

Indrani had briefly stopped taking medicines and has a history of fainting, ANI quoted the officer as saying.

Indrani, who is currently in jail, was admitted to state-run J J Hospital here on October 2 after she complained of "uneasiness".

She was discharged four days later on October 6. After Indrani's hospitalisation, conflicting reports had emerged on suspected drug overdose in prison. While one report showed she had overdosed on anti-depressant pills, the other found no such thing.
