A National Democratic Front of Bodoland-Songbijit militant involved in the December 2014 carnage of Adivasis was apprehended by a joint army and police team in Bongaigaon district of Assam today, a defence spokesman

Based on specific intelligence, the army and the Assam police launched an operation in the district and nabbed the extremist identified as Hirimbo Narzary, a resident of Mainaguri in Kokrajhar district, the spokesman said.

A 7.65 mm pistol along with some ammunition was recovered from the ultra trained for subversive activities in 2010, he added.
