How Sushma became 'acting PM'

The hint of a bigger role came on November 15, two days after the Paris attacks. On her way to America to inaugurate a meet for overseas Indians, Sushma Swaraj cut short her trip and returned to Delhi from Dubai.

Today, the foreign minister is effectively officiating as the No. 1 in the Union cabinet in the absence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Rajnath Singh from the country.
