Veteran VHP leader Ashok Singhal passes away

Just in: Veteran VHP leader Ashok Singhal passes away in Gurgaon. Singhal has been admitted to a private hospital in Gurgaon, following heart and kidney problems and breathlessness, and was very critical. Singhal died at 2.24 pm at Medanta Medicity hospital in Gurgaon.

VHP leader Praveen Togadia and a number of bureaucrats visited the hospital to enquire about Singhal's health but could not meet him as the 89-year-old leader was on life-support.
