NGO Goonj's warehouse burns down

Meanwhile, a massive fire broke out in the Delhi centre of NGO Goonj on Wednesday allegedly due to a stray firecracker. In a Facebook post, NGO founder Anshu Gupta, who won the Ramon Magsaysay Award this year, informed that it took more than 7 hours and 10 fire brigades to douse the flames. The office is located in Sarita Vihar.

Huge stocks of woolen clothes, blankets and other essential winter commodities were burnt to ashes. Goonj undertakes undertakes disaster relief, humanitarian aid and community development in parts of 21 states across India.
