Pollster Today's Chanakya issued an apology for getting its forecast of the Bihar Assembly election results wrong. There was a 'coding error' they say. Erm.


"In our 18 plus years of polling experience, we have always maintained to provide a realistic picture of the ground. As a 100% independent unbiased agency, we have projected victories for Congress, BJP & the regional parties wherever they were winning.
 

"In the Bihar elections 2015 - After the results declaration we examined - How we went so wrong ? Where was the error at our end?


"And we found that a simple computer template coding marking the alliances got interchanged at our end. Due to this our seat numbers remained the same but respective alliances got interchanged. And we are looking into the reasons that why it happened. In any case we take the responsibility & sincerely apologize.
