Just in: Anupam Kher who will be leading the anti-award-wapsi march to Rashtrapati Bhavan and has said the intent to return awards instituted by the government like the Sahitya Akademi award, the National Films Award or the Padma awards are motivated to tarnish India's image, comes to the defence of his colleague Shah Rukh Khan.

Kher tweeted: "Some members of the BJP really need to control their tongue & stop talking rubbish about @iamsrk. He is a national icon & We r PROUD of him."

Kher's tweet comes after  BJP senior leader Kailash Vijayvargiya tweeted yesterday saying Shah Rukh Khan's heart lies in Pakistan, while Yogi Adityanath, the BJP MP from Gorakhpur compared the popular actor with 26/11 terror mastermind Hafiz Saeed of Pakistan. "Shah Rukh should understand that if Muslims don't see his films, he will be on the roads. There is no difference in what Shah Rukh Khan and Hafiz Saeed say," said Aditynath.
